AutoPot System – Automatic Plant Watering Without Pumps or Power

The AutoPot System is a versatile solution for automatic irrigation that can be used to grow most edible and ornamental plants. It works well at home, in a greenhouse, or in the garden, and requires little experience to operate.

The system allows you to grow plants in various types of growing media. It can be used in soil, coconut coir, and mineral wool, as well as in media typically used for hydroponic cultivation. This allows you to enjoy the benefits of soilless cultivation while maintaining a great deal of freedom in choosing your growing medium.

The greatest advantage of AutoPot is the automatic delivery of water and nutrients to the plants according to their needs. The system reduces the need for daily watering and allows you to leave the crop unattended. Depending on the size of the reservoir, the system configuration, and the needs of the plants being grown, the nutrient supply can last for up to about 2 weeks.

AutoPot thus allows for a high degree of irrigation automation, while maintaining a simple system design and eliminating the need for additional electrical devices.

How does the AutoPot system work?

After setting up and connecting the pots to the reservoir, fill it with water and a properly prepared plant nutrient solution. From that point on, the system can independently regulate the delivery of the solution to each plant.

The AQUAvalve ensures proper operation by controlling the flow of water and nutrient solution to the planter.

Once the tray is filled, the valve stops the flow. The plant can then utilize the solution contained within the tray. During this time, the root zone has the opportunity to dry out periodically and be oxygenated. Only after the plant has used an appropriate amount of water does the AQUAvalve reopen the flow and replenish the level in the tray.

The saucer is refilled to a level of approximately 20 mm. The entire process occurs automatically and is repeated according to the plant’s water uptake.

Thanks to this solution, the system does not water the plants according to a preset schedule, but responds to the actual consumption of water and nutrient solution in the saucer.

Important Information Regarding Installation and Use

• The manufacturer recommends using 6 mm diameter nutrient supply tubing in systems with 1 to 7 pots.

• For systems consisting of 8 or more pots, a 16 mm diameter tube is recommended.

• The capacity of the water and nutrient reservoir should be selected appropriately based on the number of pots and the size of the entire system.

• The reservoir should be located at least 15 cm above the level of the pots. An adequate height difference is necessary to generate the gravitational pressure required for proper system operation.

• Suitable growing media include soil, coconut coir, or mineral wool. It is recommended to prepare a mixture consisting of 50% of the selected growing medium and 50% perlite or expanded clay.

• Remember to regularly check the liquid level and refill the main reservoir with water and a properly prepared nutrient solution suitable for the plants being grown.
