The Lechuza Moisture Indicator lets you quickly check whether a plant needs watering. It requires no batteries or additional devices—the moisture level is indicated by a color change in the indicator.

The product can be used in traditional soil, potting mixes, and mineral-based growing media. It works perfectly with Lechuza growing media, including Lechuza PON, helping you determine the appropriate watering frequency and reduce the risk of both over-drying and overwatering your plants.

How does the Lechuza moisture indicator work?

Place the indicator in the potting mix at a depth of about 7–8 cm and leave it there. The color change indicates the current moisture level:

Blue – the soil is sufficiently moist.
White – the plant needs watering.

When checking moisture levels, do not remove or rotate the indicator. The measuring stick should remain in the potting mix, where the dyed cotton core reacts to the available moisture level.

Recommended replacement intervals for the indicator, depending on the type of growing medium:

Organic substrates – approximately 9 months

Inorganic and mineral growing media —approximately 9–12 months

Hydroponics —1–2 years

Sphagnum moss and bark —1–2 years

Peat —approximately 12 months
