Westland Citrus Potting Mix + Seramis 4 L is a specially formulated blend designed for growing and repotting lemons, oranges, mandarins, and other citrus plants. The soil’s optimal structure ensures good drainage, and the initial dose of balanced nutrients supports proper plant growth after repotting.
The mix has been enriched with Seramis granules, which help retain water and nutrients in the soil for longer. This provides optimal growing conditions for the plant roots and allows nutrients to be utilized more effectively.
Citrus plants have specific requirements regarding growing media. Both adequate nutrition and efficient drainage of excess water are important, as prolonged waterlogging around the root system can adversely affect the plants’ health.
Westland Citrus Potting Mix has been specially formulated to meet these requirements. It can be used for repotting and the continued cultivation of various citrus plant species in containers.
One of the key components of the mix is Seramis granules. Their presence helps retain water and nutrients in the growing medium, keeping them available to the root system for longer.
At the same time, the proper structure of the entire mix ensures good drainage, which is particularly important for citrus plants that are sensitive to prolonged waterlogging around their roots.
Westland Citrus Potting Mix contains a starter dose of balanced nutrients sufficient for the first 5–6 weeks. This ensures that a freshly transplanted plant has access to the essential nutrients needed during acclimatization and new root development.
Citrus plants have high nutrient requirements, so once they have used up the initial supply of nutrients in the growing medium, they require regular fertilization. From March through October, it is recommended to systematically feed them with a specialized citrus fertilizer.
Citrus plants should be watered generously whenever the plant requires it. It is best to use rainwater for watering. At the same time, be careful not to let the roots remain submerged in standing water.
You can also spray the plants with water regularly, which helps maintain proper conditions around the above-ground parts.
After repotting, it is recommended to keep citrus plants at a temperature of at least 10°C. For the first 3 weeks, avoid placing a freshly repotted plant in direct sunlight.
In winter, it’s best to store citrus plants in a cool, frost-free location. In summer, the plants can be moved outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.
