LST or Low Stress Training a.k.a. Low Stress Training or simply Bending is one of the methods used to increase the number of inflorescences produced by the plant, with the least amount of stress possible. This allows us to significantly increase our yields. This training involves tying up parts of the plant and gently tilting it toward the ground. LST helps plants grow evenly and eliminates problems related to lamp height because all plants are of similar height and fill the growing field evenly so they receive a similar amount of light.
LST can be initiated when the stem and stems of the plant become long enough to be tied down it is worth waiting until the plants exceed 30cm in height. Make sure you use flexible plant tape, or rubber-coated horticultural wire, as these are gentler on stems and stems. Avoid regular wire or string, as it can cut into the stems as they grow, causing damage.
Horticultural wire is relatively thin but thanks to its plastic sheath it does not cause damage to the stem with its help you can also bend slightly thicker branches. Be careful when bending so that as the plant grows, the wire does not grow into the plant. The wire can be attached directly to the pot, which will facilitate the eventual transportation of the plant.
When bending plants, you can take the help of a support net, which stretched and properly tightened over our entire plant, the later it is put on, the closer it should be to the plant. When the plant begins to overgrow the net, its branches should be translated into individual meshes of the net so that they do not interfere with each other. The bending usually starts from the upper part of the plant and over time covers the entire plant when the lower tiers begin to grow over the mesh. More than one mesh can be used if necessary.
